Kansas City Chiefs guard Joe Thuney found himself in the spotlight during Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders, not for his stellar blocking, but for an unexpected wardrobe malfunction that added a light-hearted twist to the Chiefs’ 27-20 victory. Late in the game, with Kansas City up 20-13 and the clock ticking down in the final five minutes, Thuney’s pants ripped along his left thigh, briefly exposing his tights beneath his red uniform.
The mishap didn’t go unnoticed, as the broadcast team quickly pointed it out. Commentator Kevin Harlan couldn’t resist a chuckle, announcing to viewers, “Thuney’s got some torn trousers,” while the camera captured the moment.
Despite the minor embarrassment, Thuney remained unfazed, continuing to provide solid protection for quarterback Patrick Mahomes as the Chiefs clinched another win.
On the field, Mahomes was in top form, completing 27 of 38 passes for 262 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Tight end Travis Kelce made a significant impact as well, snagging 10 receptions for 90 yards and scoring his first touchdown of the season.
Running back Kareem Hunt added a rushing touchdown, while wide receiver Xavier Worthy also found the end zone with a touchdown reception.

The Chiefs outperformed the Raiders, amassing 334 yards to Las Vegas’s 228 and converting a remarkable 75 percent of their third-down opportunities (12 out of 16). By comparison, the Raiders managed to convert six of their 13 third-down chances.
This efficient performance propelled Kansas City to a flawless 7-0 record as they continue their quest for a historic three-peat Super Bowl championship.
Sunday’s win also marked a turning point since their last loss to the Raiders on Christmas Day in 2023. From that point forward, the Chiefs went on an unstoppable streak, culminating in a Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers in February.
Now, Kansas City sits atop the league once again, showing no signs of slowing down—even if Thuney’s uniform couldn’t quite keep up with the action.
