Rick Harrison, the famous star of the hit TV show Pawn Stars, has spoken out about the sudden and sad death of his son Adam, who was 39 years old. Reports say Adam died of what they think was a drug overdose. His father has now revealed that fentanyl was the drug that killed him.
Rick told Fox News Digital about his sadness and anger and stressed the need for more people to know about and do something about the fentanyl problem. “Yes, I can confirm Adam died from a fentanyl overdose,” he stated. “This country needs to pay more attention to the fentanyl crisis.” It looks like nothing is being done to stop it from crossing the lines. We need to do better.
TMZ was the first to report that Adam had died, and the details of how he died from an overdose are still unknown. The event is being looked into by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department.
A Harrison family member spoke out in a statement on behalf of Adam’s family and friends, saying how sad they are and asking for privacy as they grieve his death. Adam was Rick’s second kid from his first marriage to Kim Harrison. His older brother Corey and younger brother Jake will miss him.
Even though Adam didn’t show up on Pawn Stars, he worked at the Gold & Silver Pawn shop before the show started in 2009. But he hadn’t been working at the pawn shop much in the last few years.
Rick shared a picture of himself and his son on Instagram and wrote, “You will always be in my heart!” as a heartfelt tribute to his son. “I love you, Adam.” His post was a moving way to show how much he loved and missed his son.
From January 2020 to 2021, the number of deaths from overdoses involving synthetic opioids rose by an amazing 56.6%, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Fentanyl is a Schedule II controlled drug that is a very strong opioid that can kill you in very small amounts.
