Jason Kelce’s glee was clear as he greeted Taylor Swift’s arrival at Arrowhead Stadium with enthusiasm on “Monday Night Football” ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs’ win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The retired Philadelphia Eagles hero was present in his role as an analyst for ESPN during an entertaining evening as his brother’s team ran out 30-24 winners. Watching on from her usual vantage point in the VIP suite, pop superstar Swift witnessed partner Travis Kelce tally up 14 catches for 100 yards in the victory.

Snubbing Kamala Harris’ final campaign rally ahead of the U.S. presidential election, the “Anti Hero” hitmaker’s priorities were clear as she made the trip to Missouri. As footage first emerged of the chart-topper arriving at the arena, her boyfriend’s sibling also appeared thrilled to see her.

As the camera panned to Swift during ESPN’s broadcast, the elder Kelce brother exclaimed: “‘Hey!”, while ESPN host Scott Van Pelt responded as he made reference to Jay-Z track ‘Public Service Announcement’, quoting the line: “Got the hottest chick in the game wearing my chain.”

Fans reacted to the moment on X subsequently, with one person, saying: “Everyone calls her his sister in law now I guess. I bet after the game Taylor runs up to Jason and they have the biggest bear hug and she whispers thank you,” while a second said: “Love seeing her blend her superstar life with these down-to-earth moments.”

Still, one person seemed irked by the coverage, protesting: “ESPN needs to stop. If they make Jason apologize for defending his family. Then don’t call her his SIL looking for his reaction by his co-workers.”

Former Eagles hero Kelce also issued an apology live on air on the night after he threw a fan’s phone during a heated exchange outside Beaver Stadium in Pennsylvania. The retired star’s angry reaction came as the individual used homophobic language to describe his brother in relation to Swift.

Kelce said: “I’m not happy with anything that took place. I’m not proud of it. And in a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate, and I just don’t think that’s a productive thing. I really don’t. I don’t think it leads to discourse, and [don’t think] it’s the right way to go about things.”

He added: “In that moment, I fell down to a level that I shouldn’t have. So I think bottom line is, I try to live my life by the golden rule. It’s what I’ve always been taught. I try to treat people with common decency and respect, even though I fell short this week. I’m going to do that moving forward and continue to do that.”
