Joe Rogan found himself in a tense moment during his podcast with Donald Trump, when the Republican candidate asked for an endorsement similar to Elon Musk‘s recent backing. Trump made his debut on the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ on Friday, and within eight hours, the episode had already garnered millions of views on YouTube, with more streaming it on Spotify.

Despite initially resisting having Trump on his show, Rogan didn’t shy away from posing tough questions to the former President, who also took the opportunity to challenge Rogan. One such instance was when Trump asked Rogan to endorse him as Musk did at his Butler rally, even making a UFC reference that left Rogan chuckling.

Discussing Musk, Trump stated: “He gave me the nicest endorsement. You should do the same thing, Joe, because you cannot be voting for Kamala…”

Rogan burst into laughter at Trump’s suggestion that he couldn’t vote for Kamala, before Trump added: “I’ve been watching you for years. You’re definitely not a Kamala person. You’re a Khabib [Nurmagomedov] person – not a Kamala person!”

Rogan didn’t respond to Trump’s endorsement request, a move that seems highly unlikely given the 56-year-old has previously expressed that he is “not a Trump fan in any shape or form”. .

Despite previously stating that he’s not a Trump fan, the podcast host, comedian, and UFC commentator admitted that he wanted to bring him on after the assassination attempt, while also suggesting his anger at the media for its portrayal of the incident – believing the former President would have been blamed if the reverse happened and Joe Biden had been shot at.

Trump returned to Butler, Pennsylvania, where he was shot in July and was surprisingly joined by SpaceX, Tesla and X owner Musk – who publicly endorsed him and gave a speech at his rally. Musk is now a devout Trump supporter while regularly filling up his X account with anti-Kamala Harris tweets ahead of the Nov. 5 election.

Rogan and Trump’s three-hour discussion saw them speak on why Rogan initially hesitated to have Trump appear on his show for numerous years, while also speaking on his next potential term as President, should he win.

Rogan’s podcast has long been one of the most watched shows in the industry. Over the years, he has recorded significantly more downloades than the likes of major networks such as ABC, CNN, and FOX have views, statistics have shown.
