Larry Birkhead has proven that he will do whatever it takes to make his daughter’s Christmas dreams come true.
On Friday, Dec. 27, the actor, 51, revealed that he gave his daughter Dannielynn a life-size cardboard cutout Hugh Jackman for Christmas, sharing silly snaps of the 18-year-old with her new decor and explaining the hilarious story behind the gift on Instagram.
“All Dannielynn wanted for Christmas was Hugh Jackman under the tree,” the proud dad began. “Since he wasn’t available, the next best thing had to do.”

He continued, “Dannielynn got tickets to see @thehughjackman ‘s Broadway Show, ‘From New York With Love,’ at @radiocitymusichall.” However, Birkhead then admits he nearly missed the mark.
“Last month, I was up for hours online waiting in the presale to get the tickets. After waiting forever in a queue, I was able to get front row seats and added the meet and greet option,” he recalled. “Once I checked out, it discarded the whole cart because the meet and greet portion had sold out by the time I checked out.”
A few days later, Birkhead asked his “deflated” daughter what she wanted for Christmas, and she simply replied, “Hugh Jackman under the tree.”

“After days of kicking myself for screwing things up and still searching for Dannielynn’s Christmas gifts, I went back online Christmas week and was able to find that some tickets had opened up,” he shared. And to solve the meet-and-greet issue, “I found her a life-size cutout of Hugh and put it under the tree.”
“So, technically speaking, she got her wish, which saved Christmas. I’m just a Dad making dreams come true one day at a time 😆,” he quipped, adding that the cutout is already living in Dannielynn’s bedroom.
Birkhead shares his daughter with the late Anna Nicole Smith.
