Taylor Swift was put in an awkward situation Monday as she watched Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Swift recently finished up the United States leg of her ‘Eras Tour,’ with her final three shows taking place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. On Monday, the 34-year-old pop megastar posted a carousel on her Instagram page, thanking her fans for their support and telling them to vote in the upcoming election.

With the 2024 Presidential Election on the minds of most of the general population, Swift has made it clear where she stands, outwardly showing her support for Vice President Kamala Harris. However, that leaves her in an awkward position, thanks to Mahomes’ mom Randi.

Before the Chiefs’ matchup with the Buccaneers, Randi urged fans to vote for Donald Trump on Tuesday in a social media video. Wearing a red ‘Make America Great Again’ hat, Randi stated: “Make America Great Again! Let’s do it! Wooooo!”

Randi is not the only member of the Mahomes household who outwardly showed their support for the former president. Months before the election, Brittany, Patrick’s wife, posted a photo of Trump’s policy positions, all but confirming she was supporting the Republican nominee.

After Brittany’s post garnered backlash from fans on social media, Trump shouted out Brittany on his platform Truth Social. In particular, the 78-year-old commended the former soccer star for making her thoughts on the election known.

In the days and weeks after the backlash, rumors regarding Swift and Brittany’s relationship souring spread throughout social media, with the two spotted in different suites in a handful of games. However, it appears as if the Mahomes’ are doing what they can to repair any potential rift between the two sides.

The Mahomes’ reportedly wants to name Swift and Kelce as the godparents of their third child, according to a source per The U.S. Sun. Speaking to the outlet, the source claimed Kelce and Patrick are like “brothers,” with the Super Bowl champions having a close relationship outside of football.

“Patrick and Brittany love to spend time with Travis and Taylor,” according to the source. “They see them as the best people to be the godfather and godmother of the next child. The kids love Travis and call him Uncle Travis.”
