How is it that the ones that suffer the most turn out to be the ones with the most love to give?
I bet Rango would answer this question perfectly if only he could speak.
After spending a lifetime in a property in West Phoenix, Arizona, filled with neglect and suffering, Rango never had a decent chance to experience the true meaning of love. Then, one day, everything changed for this Pittie Lab mix.
Rescuers arrived to save him, unaware that he would transform into the biggest, most loving lovebug!
Rango Is A Testament Of Resilience
When Rango was brought from the property to Poverty’s Pets, Arizona, his body was covered in open wounds and ticks. On top of that, he was extremely shy and scared of humans, likely due to a traumatic past.
“Rango came to us broken, beat up, insecure and a bit growly at times. Over time, Rango understood that he was surrounded by kindness and as his body healed, he has also emotionally thrived. Rango just wants to give kisses…..literally,” Poverty’s Pets stated on Facebook.
Once he got a proper chance to show his true colors, everything changed.
In no time, he became this cuddly Teddy-bear version of himself, expressing the deepest gratitude for being saved. Rango showered literally everyone with warm kisses and hauntingly cute smiles.
Eventually, he found a foster home with Lori Jones, who welcomed him with an open heart.
He soon went from a life of fear and neglect to becoming the silliest, most entertaining dog in the house!
“Rango is a testament to how forgiving and resilient dogs can be. He’s gone from a life of neglect and pain, not trusting humans, to being a silly affectionate lap dog,” Lori wrote on Instagram.
Rango adjusted to the foster life amazingly. He became known for “holding people’s hands” wherever he went, as if he were always in need of human attention.
Something inside him made Rango always eager to share affection with everyone he met, which is why people loved him so much!
Still Looking For A Forever Home
The one thing Rango is missing is a forever home!
He’s been with his fosters for years now, but the right family has never rang the doorbell. Even though he loves life surrounded by his current furry friends, Rango needs someone to show him what home looks like.
Lori is absolutely sure that his chance will come soon… he just needs to wait a little longer. And, when that happens, she is confident that Rango will absolutely dazzle his future pawrents with the level of enthusiasm and happiness that he showcases daily.
“In spite of coming from a life of neglect and cruelty, Rango is one of the most gentle, happy dogs you’ll ever meet,” Lori wrote.
Until then, Rango will enjoy the company of his fosters. And, if I can say one thing with certainty, it’s that he’ll definitely keep that big, cute smile on his face while waiting for the right chance!
Happy forever home hunting, Rango!
