Golf enthusiasts generally go to the courses to relax and enjoy this sporting activity without expecting any unpleasant surprises. It was the same this time when a group of golfers came to Garland’s Fire Wheel Golf Course to play the game.
However, the flow of their game was completely disrupted when they saw a furry creature in a nearby creek. In that moment, they dropped everything and headed toward that place in order to see what exactly was going on.
It didn’t take long for them to see that there was a dog stuck on the outskirts of Rowlett Creek in Garland, Texas. He didn’t want to move from that place and they didn’t want to do anything on their own.
Because of that, they immediately called for help.
Successful Rescue Mission
As soon as they got the call from the golfers, the rescuers from Garland Animal Services (GAS) headed to that place. In addition to them, the firefighters of the Garland Fire Department (GFD) came to the scene.
“Rescue 8 was called out to help Animal Control reach a dog [who] appeared to be stranded on the bank of the creek at Fire Wheel Golf Course,” the fire department wrote in their Facebook post.
One of the firefighters didn’t wait long but immediately stepped into the water and went to the other side of the creek, on the narrow bank of which there was this motionless dog.
When he finally came there, he first tried to coax the dog into the water, but unfortunately, he did not succeed. In one second, the kind firefighter changed his plan and started petting the dog in order for him to relax.
This strategy was more than successful because he soon earned the dog’s trust. When the firefighter realized that, he took him in his arms, and soon, they were both in safety.
The fire department posted the video of the rescue on Facebook, which, by the way, attracted a lot of attention.
Although they didn’t know at first, the firefighters soon realized that this dog had an owner because they found the collar with his mom’s contact information.
Safe After So Long
As soon as the rescuers learned who this dog’s owner was, they contacted his mom, Joan Landry, who revealed what actually happened.
“This is my dog, Bubba,” Joan wrote in the comment section. “We’ve been looking for him for two [plus] days!!”
She said that during the GAS and GFD rescue mission, the entire community in Sachse, Texas, where this dog was living with his family, rose to its feet to find Bubba. Unfortunately, there was no sign or voice of him, which greatly shook his mother.
“I was crying for [two] days, walking [the] neighborhood, and neighbors were watching for him, too!!” Joan wrote in a comment.
According to his family, Bubba had escaped four days prior through an opened gate. All that time, Joan was inconsolable, but then a call from these great people came, which brought a smile back to her face.
Back Where He Belongs
When Joan got the call from the firefighters, she was over the moon because her favorite furry boy was found. Yet, she couldn’t understand how he got there in the first place.
“Just the idea that he was in the creek is still puzzling. Did he just jump in and go for a swim because it was a hot day?” Joan wondered as she gave an interview for WFAA.
However, despite everything, her happiness overcame everything else because of the fact that Bubba was alive and safe, and she couldn’t wait to reunite with her beloved pet.
Luckily, she didn’t have to wait for long because that moment soon came. That heartwarming scene was captured by WFAA cameras.
The happiness and smile on this woman’s face, as well as the efforts to find him, best show how much our furry friends mean to us in life. It is love that sometimes seems to go beyond the scope of this world.
