Video:
Video captures a frenzied elephant attacking a herd of hippos underwater. Especially not knowing what made the wild elephant want to kill the hippo’s newborn?
We stopped at the observatory and noticed that the pool had more than 25 hippos, and also many crocodiles spawning on the shore. We watched an elephant come down to have a drink in the pool, but it seemed annoyed with the hippos and got into the water and started chasing them.
We stopped at the observatory and noticed that the pool had more than 25 hippos, and also many crocodiles spawning on the shore. We watched an elephant come down to have a drink in the pool, but it seemed annoyed with the hippos and got into the water and started chasing them.
The elephant became increasingly agitated and started bouncing around, causing chaos in the pool. The elephant started to chase all the hippos out of the pool. During the commotion, a baby hippo was left alone on the sand. The elephant walked up to the baby and started pushing it around with its trunk, then it threw the baby into the sand in the air!
Luckily, he left the baby hippo alone and returned to the water, where it continued to blow its trumpet and slam the water around. The action doesn’t stop there, the baby hippo seems fine and returns to the water then follows the elephant.
While the elephant was coming out of the water, the baby hippo was grabbing its hind legs – this apparently angered the baby elephant, then tried to kick the baby hippo away.
The baby hippo continued to follow the elephant out of the water, where a rock blocked it, what appeared to be another angry attack on the baby hippo – the elephant lost interest quite quickly and walked away.
Too bad the hippo, just born, couldn’t stand the memorable first shock
