LeBron James and JJ Redick are back with episode 8 of their podcast series, Mind the Game. This time around, their primary focus was on discussing the Conference Finals, but what surprised fans was a visit by someone special in King James’ life – his wife, Savannah.
For a few seconds in the beginning, we see a glimpse of Savannah James fixing her husband’s cap, which was blocking his face from being fully visible on camera. While she fixes his cap, LeBron tries to remind his wife that they’re recording, but then Savannah is quick to respond with, “Hey, I made the pod. I’m just tryna help!”
This hilarious bit is driving fans crazy, as people get to see the power couple in the most intimate of moments, frolicking around each other like they would have behind the scenes. But what we get more insight from this small bit is that Savannah also probably owns LeBron and JJ Redick’s podcast or maybe, she’s the brains behind this marvelous series.
After all, Savannah James is an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, a podcaster, and an Instagram influencer, and not just the NBA legend, LeBron James’ wife. She’s so much more than that. With an estimated net worth of $100 million, she’s managing not just a family but also a furniture line, a skincare line, her husband’s tequila business, and a lot more.
The ultimate basketball wife – Savannah James
The “I’m tryna help you out” bit from the beginning of the Mind the Game podcast’s episode 8 is truly a testament to the spirit Savannah holds in her family. She is a Wonder Woman for the James clan, with a lot on her plate. From managing successful ventures globally to managing a handful family, she does everything like a pro.
Not a lot of people know that Savannah’s the reason LeBron James is LeBron James today. The King credits his Queen for all the success he’s had so far since the beginning of their relationship almost 2 decades ago. The high school sweethearts used to cherish each other’s friendship and companionship in many unspoken ways. LeBron once told the Hollywood Reporter how Savannah used to show up to his shooting practices and to his gym practices. She was the one rooting for him when he was a nobody before entering the NBA.
“[Savannah] was down when I was at my high school, no cameras, no lights. And she was there with me. You wouldn’t be talking to me right now if it weren’t for her”.
Today, Savannah is the rule-maker of the James clan. She sets the boundaries in their home. And LeBron is completely in agreement with his Queen. He says since he is mostly away on games, coming home after almost 2 weeks or so, and then telling his children the “rules” wouldn’t make a lot of sense, since Savannah is the one who spends the most time with them. Seems like she’s not just an influencer on the internet but a true one at home, too.
Plus, her long-term passion for helping others is something everyone cherishes. From very early in her life, her active interest in philanthropy and working on humanitarian causes is an inspiration to many young women, globally. She’s a vocal advocate for the LGBT community and tries to generate more interest in the Rehab community through her television appearances. The causes that she works on are something that her little daughter is proud of, too. She says, “Mom, I want to be like you” when she grows up. Coming from your child means so much, and becomes an added testament to the wonderful work that you’re doing around the world.
The devotion that she shares for her children and her marriage is admirable. Even though she started her family at a young age, she’s grown along with them. Not only is she working things in the background, but she’s making sure that an empire is built with the family at the forefront.
So, if she’s fixing her husband’s cap before his podcast begins, by all means, the Queen has earned every single right to do so!
