Apparently, they have Taylor Swift music in the land of Oz.
Wicked star Ethan Slater recently made a bold claim about his character Boq in the new musical film, and he seems to think his onscreen counterpart would definitely be a Swiftie.
While walking the red carpet during the premiere of Wicked in London, England, on Monday, Nov. 18, Slater was asked about his character’s musical preferences.
“Boq would probably be a real Bon Iver kind of guy,” he replied.
He then declared, “He definitely would be into Taylor Swift,” as seen in a clip of the interview shared on X (formerly Twitter).
The 32-year-old Broadway star further said there’s “a whole range of things” he believes he would find on Boq’s playlist, including, perhaps, some of Swift’s collabs with Bon Iver.
The “So High School” songstress previously collaborated with Bon Iver on the folklore track “Exile,” as well as the titular track on her album evermore.
Swifties were instantly “Enchanted” by Slater and his knowledge of her collaboration history with Bon Iver, and many of them took to the internet to praise him for his “taste.”
“He knows exile and evermore,” one fan wrote online, while another gushed, “okay taste.”
“Their collabs too? oh tasteful.” someone else echoed.
Another user praised Slater as a “swiftie,” while someone else on X quipped, “Good speech.”
The film adaptation of Wicked, starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, premieres in theaters on Friday, Nov. 22.
